Thank you for choosing to work with me. Whether you're here for a reiki session, a spiritual development workshop, theta healing, sound therapy, or to join the She Who Chooses membership — I want your experience to be positive, transparent, and grounded in mutual respect.

The following terms and conditions outline the agreements between you (the client) and Jane Macdonald Holistic Wellness. By booking a service, purchasing a product, or joining a membership, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

1. General Information

Jane Macdonald Holistic Wellness is owned and operated by Jane Macdonald. These Terms & Conditions apply to all services, sessions, workshops, retreats, courses, and digital offerings provided by Jane Macdonald Holistic Wellness, including but not limited to: Reiki treatments (Usui Shiki Ryoho, Holy Fire, and Karuna Reiki), Theta Healing, Sound Therapy, Creative Therapies, Spiritual Wellness Coaching, Spiritual Development Workshops, Metaphysical Workshops, and the She Who Chooses membership program.

By booking, purchasing, or engaging with any service, you agree to these terms and conditions in full. If you have any questions, please contact us at wellbeing@janemacdonald.co.uk.

2. Professional Information
Services are provided by Jane Macdonald, Reiki Master Teacher (UK Reiki Federation Master Member, CNHC Registered, NHS Inform listed), Holistic Counsellor, Creative Arts Facilitator (IICT Premier Member), and Health, Safety & Wellbeing Consultant.

3. Overview of Services
I offer Reiki treatments, therapeutic sessions, sound baths, meditation circles, workshops, retreats, online sessions, and digital resources. These offerings support emotional wellbeing, relaxation, and personal development. They are complementary therapies and do not replace medical or psychological care.

The She Who Chooses membership is a recurring subscription. By joining, you agree to the following:
  • Membership fees are charged on a recurring basis (monthly or as stated at the time of purchase).
  • You may cancel your membership at any time by providing written notice. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are not provided for partial months or unused membership content.
  • Membership content, materials, and community discussions are for personal use only and must not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without written permission.
  • Members are expected to engage respectfully within the community. Jane Macdonald reserves the right to remove any member whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate or harmful.
4. Booking Policy
  • All bookings are made through the website or by direct communication.
  • A confirmation email will be sent once your booking is complete.
  • Spaces for workshops, sound baths, retreats, and events are limited and offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
  • Your place is only secured once payment has been received.
  • Some services may require completion of an intake form before attending.
5. Payment Policy
  • Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.
  • Payments are processed securely through the website’s payment provider.
  • Prices may change at any time, but confirmed bookings will always honour the price paid at the time of purchase.
  • Gift vouchers must be used within the timeframe stated at purchase.
  • Retreat bookings require a non‑refundable 30% deposit.  The full asking price of the retreat per person is required upon booking.
  • Payment of any outstanding sums owed (the balance) must be made before the specified Payment Due Date for the retreat which you are booking.
  • Course bookings may require a non‑refundable £75 deposit.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling
1:1 Sessions (Reiki, therapeutic sessions, online sessions)
  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your appointment may be rescheduled without charge.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours, or non‑attendance, are non‑refundable.
  • If you arrive late, the session will still finish at the scheduled time.
Workshops, Sound Baths & Events
  • Tickets are non‑refundable, as spaces are limited and preparation is required.
  • You may transfer your ticket to another person with prior notice.
  • Recordings or alternative dates are not guaranteed unless explicitly stated.
Courses & Training
  • £75 deposit is non‑refundable.
  • Remaining fees may be refunded if you cancel, provided you supply proof of payment if requested.
  • Transfers to another course may be possible and are reviewed individually without bias or judgement.
  • Certification is awarded only when sufficient competency is demonstrated across:
    • theory
    • practical work
    • practitioner management skills
    • case studies
    • open‑book assessment
  • If competency is not met, a certificate of attendance will be issued instead, along with feedback.
Retreats
  • Retreat cancellations must be made in writing.
  • There is no cooling‑off period for retreat bookings.
  • If you cancel 90+ days before the retreat start date, all payments except the non‑refundable 30% deposit will be refunded.
  • Travel, flights, transfers, and insurance are not included in retreat prices.
If I need to cancel
If I must cancel or reschedule, you will be offered:
  • a new appointment time, or
  • a full refund for the affected session, course, or event.
7. Travel Insurance
  • It is your responsibility to arrange adequate travel and health insurance for retreats.
  • You acknowledge that Our Retreat is not in the business of providing insurance products and cannot be held liable if your failure to arrange suitable insurance coverage leaves you exposed, medically, financially or otherwise.
  • You understand and acknowledge that it is a condition of booking that you must take out an adequate travel insurance policy that covers all items listed in the sample itinerary for your chosen Retreat, as well as but not limited to, trip cancellation insurance, and any other activities that which may reasonably be undertaken during the course of your Retreat. The policy and insurance coverage must be valid and in effect for the entire duration of your Retreat.
  • Insurance must cover:
    • trip cancellation
    • medical needs
    • activities listed in the retreat itinerary
    • personal belongings
  • You will be asked to email or bring your policy with you to the retreat in case of an emergency.
  • Please note, even if you have private health insurance in your Country of Residence, it is unlikely that this insurance will cover overseas trips to the extent required to participate in the activities organised on a trip with Jane Macdonald
8. Health, Safety and Participation
  • You must inform me of any injuries, health conditions, or accessibility needs before booking.
  • It is your responsibility to let our teachers know if you have any injuries and to be mindful at all times of your own body's capability during our retreats.
  • If you experience discomfort or injury during any activity, you must stop immediately.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you are fit to participate; please consult a doctor if unsure.
  • Please advise us of any mental or physical health conditions and dietary requirements before you book.
  • If you have health conditions and dietary requirements that may be affected by the activities offered on our retreats we reserve the right, for your own wellbeing, to advise you to stop participating.
  • Whilst all measures are taken to ensure a high standard of health and safety, our retreats do take places where the land is uneven and we shall not be responsible for any injuries caused by uneven terrain.
  • Pregnant participants (12–28 weeks) must provide a letter from a healthcare professional confirming they are fit to travel and to engage in the activities that we provide.
  • You must not attend sessions under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
9. Acknowledgement of Risk & Indemnity
  • All exercise, travel, and holistic practices carry inherent risks.
  • You participate voluntarily and accept responsibility for your own wellbeing.
  • I do not provide medical advice; any information shared is for general guidance only.
  • You agree to fully indemnify  without limitation any trainer(s), director(s), and/or contractor(s) against ant injury, malpractice, mishap, or accident during any and all interactions with the Company way from, or at the primary place of business for the retreat style learning experience.
10. Digital Products and Online Courses
  • All digital products are non‑refundable once purchased.
  • Access links and course materials are for personal use only and must not be shared, copied, or distributed.
  • Access to online content may be time‑limited depending on the product purchased.
11. Studio and Training Centre Information
Dunfermline Training Studio Located in Central Dunfermline.
  • Parking for up to 3 cars available, including over the driveway. Additional parking on neighbouring streets is permitted if not obstructive.
  • Public transport: Local bus service stops near by. Dunfermline City train station is a 25‑minute uphill walk or 5‑minute taxi ride.
  • Accessibility: The therapy studio is at the bottom of a sloped, chipped driveway. Toilet facilities are accessed via an outside staircase; alternative access with fewer stairs is available at the front of the house.
Retreat Style Training Property and training centre details are shared via the dedicated WhatsApp group for each retreat.
12. Liability
I am not liable for:
  • any loss, injury, or damage arising from your participation
  • issues caused by your internet connection during online sessions
  • actions you choose to take based on information shared in sessions, courses, or workshops
Your participation is voluntary, and you accept full responsibility for your wellbeing.
13. Intellectual Property
All content, course materials, recordings, meditations, and written resources are the intellectual property of Jane Macdonald Holistic Wellness and may not be reproduced, shared, or used commercially without written permission.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to me. Personal data is handled in accordance with:
  • UK GDPR
  • Data Protection Act 2018

15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be handled by the Scottish courts.
16. Changes to Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated occasionally. The version displayed on the website at the time of booking will apply.
